Jack Frazer Memorial Scholarship program.
Jack Frazer was a life member of the club who loved his tennis and played for the club in a range of competitions and tournaments. He mentored and played with juniors throughout his time, bringing them up from junior ranks to senior play.
He gave back to the club, serving on the Committee for 20 years and 14 years as President.
He was known as a fair and competitive player and a great team player. He demonstrated humility and sportsmanship with everyone he played. He considered tennis to be a sport for life—a good way to exercise, compete, and share with family and friends. The Scholarships are offered through his financial generosity to the Club.
In his Will, he left a bequest to the Club. The committee created the Jack Frazer Memorial Scholarship, which funds the development of junior tennis players.
The Scholarship is open to players aged 10 to 18 who are playing or have realistic ambitions to play at an elite level locally, nationally, or internationally. Players will be hardworking, sportsperson-like, still at school and committed to continuing education, team-oriented, and willing to train at and represent Lane Cove Tennis Club. They must also be committed to improving their tennis rating/ranking.
The financial support will cover expenses such as tournament fees, coaching fees, travel and accommodation associated with tournament play, fitness training, equipment, and clothing.
The committee will invite junior applications in 2025. More details will be posted to assist with the application process.
