Jack Frazer Memorial Scholarship

Lane Cove Tennis Club offers financial assistance each year to up to 8 young tennis players. It is part of our Jack Frazer Memorial Scholarship.

The Scholarships are open to players aged 10 to 18 years who are playing or have realistic ambitions to play at an elite level locally, nationally or internationally.  Players will be:  hardworking, sportsperson-like, still at school and committed to continuing education, team-oriented and willing to train at and represent Lane Cove Tennis Club.  And they must be committed to improving their tennis rating/ranking.

The financial support will cover such expenses as tournament fees, coaching fees, travel and accommodation associated with tournament play, fitness training, equipment and clothing.

Scholarship holders:

  1. represent and play for Lane Cove Tennis Club in NTSA and TNSW accredited tournaments and competitions
  2. practice at Lane Cove Tennis Club
  3. play in Club social tennis events

Laura Wunderlich

D.O:B:  27 May 2001
Achievement/Background:  A solid left hander with an ATR of 152. Selection for NSW Pizzey Cup National team 2017 (winner), Winner 2017 Macquarie University AMT singles 2017, Blacktown Gold doubles winner 2017. Australian school girls quarter finalist 2017. Strong acedemic record with 12 school athletics records held.

Jenna Svatos

D.O.B:  7 August 2003
Achievement/Background:  ATR 809. Queenwood junior singles champion, NSTA competitions, Sunday morning Div 1 runners up 2017. Tildesley shield player. Strong team player who excels in a variety of sports. Round of 16 at state titles.

Lily Logue

D.O:B:  28 May 2002
Achievement/Background:  2017 NSTA open junior championship U16 doubles runners up. 2017 Blacktown winter Junior championships U16 singles runner up, U16 doubles winner. 2017 CHS Sydney North team selected as number 1 player and led North Sydney to Silver medal. Strong determination with a positive demeanour.

Grace Bruce

D.O.B:  16 June 2003
Achievement/Background: ATR 480, approx 15th in NSW for age group. 2017 won 2 junior tournaments and a finalist in 2 others. Coffs Harbour Easter Open U14 Singles winner, Gloucester bronze level AMT JT tournament U14 singles winner, Gosford Junior U14 Girls doubles winner. School comps, Wade and Neal cup, 2nd in U14 girls division. Being awarded the Catherine McCauley award highlighting determination and pride in everything she does.

Srijan Singh

D.O.B: 9 February 2002
Achievement/Background:  Multiple athletics awards. Current age group ranking of 2, AR of 318. Well rounded and highly accomplished player. 2017: Doubles final ACT ITF grade 5, main draw ITF grade 5 in Syd and ACT , quarter final Canberra AMT silver, Fiji ITF grade 4 & 5 round 16, finalist Sawtell RSL, 3rd Sydney closed Junior, 3rd Blacktown Junior u16. Positive attitude and trains at the National Academy Tennis Australia

Zac Matthews

D.O.B: 12 November 2000
Achievement/Background: Highly focused player, loves his sport. School representative in the AICES. On an upward trajectory with his eye on reaching the top.

Achievement/Background: Left Hander. Australian Men’s ranking 1862. 2017 results summary, NSTA U12 Singles winner, finalist Tuncurry Twin Towns U14 Doubles, Semi Final Gloucester U14 Doubles, Gosford U12 doubles, NSW Junior Tour lead Grass court nationals U12 Doubles, quarter finals Gloucester U14 singles.

Thomas Garrett

D.O:B 14 March 2005
Achievement/Background:  Ranking 1468. Involved in numerous sports. School rep selected in Sydney North team for PSSA state championship, In U12 BS: Hawkesbury Junior winner, Blacktown spring Quarter final, Southern district Junior finalist. U12 BD: Blacktown spring finalist, Hawkesbury junior winner, Southern District junior winner, NSTA city junior open Semi finalist. Also regional PSSA Soccer and winner of Roseville Rotary Public Speaking Competition with a speech on “why I love Tennis”.
