2019 Wimbledon at Lane Cove

After a week of rain the day was set for clear skies and no wind.  Perfect play.  The Tournament Director, Corey Lewis, had made the early call that the draw was limited to 30 players.

Top seeds included, President Garry Butler,  the Malaysian Number 1 player – Joon Soh and the Martin brothers (Daniel and Sam).  Kim Warwick, President TNSW and ex Wimbledon champion also played.

Memorable moments: Julie Coates acing the ex-Wimbledon player, Keith Stewart hitting a backhand with no feet on the ground, and Ray Melograna  going home to change into all Whites.

Strawberries and cream, snags and sauce, mulled wine and beer were served throughout the afternoon.

Play was competitive with no requirement for the Tournament Referee.  Congratulations to winners:  Keith Stewart, Daniel Martin, Peter Holland, and Mahmud Choudhury.
