Last Post – Neutral Bay and Lane Cove Tennis Club Challenge

The Last Post is the inaugural inter-club challenge between The Neutral Bay Club and Lane Cove Tennis Club.  The challenge will be held on Sunday 28 January 2018, commencing at 1:00pm.

It coincides with the completion of the resurfaced courts at Neutral Bay and the Australian Open men’s final.  The Neutral Bay Club will be hosting the event, including afternoon BBQ prior to the commencement of the AO final.  A big screen will be erected on their bowling green for viewing of the final.

We would like to see this as an annual event, where each Club plays for the perpetual trophy which is being made from one of the ‘last tennis net posts’ from the court resurfacing.

It will be an afternoon of tennis for all standards, and ages.  The grounds at The Neutral Bay Club provide great spectator facilities – particularly from the verandah bar area.

A light sandwich and fruit lunch will be available around 1:00pm.  And the BBQ will be cranked up at the end of play – around 6:30pm, just before AO play.  There is no charge to any of the food.  The Neutral Bay Club is a licensed club and the bar will be open throughout the afternoon and evening.

We need to get an idea of who is available to play (and we can be flexible as to timing if you can’t commit from 1:00pm to 5:30pm) – adults and juniors.  And we need to get an idea of the number of spectators for catering (light lunch and for the BBQ). Bring the family for the BBQ and to watch the final.

The Neutral Bay Club is located at Barry Street, Neutral Bay.
